Foley & Sound Effects

Foley consists of recreating in the studio the sounds of gestures, movements, and objects that accompany the characters on screen. Performed in sync with the picture, these sounds contribute to the embodiment of scenes and the continuity of the narrative.
Foley is also a process of research and sound creation, driven by the performance of foley artists. It is rooted in the French tradition of foley, where sounds are recreated and recorded from objects and materials in a dedicated environment, in real time and in sync with the image.
Polyson’s foley stage allows work to be carried out under conditions tailored to the demands of film productions and is notably equipped with:
- A large 500 m³ volume
- High-performance sound isolation
- Variable acoustics
- A large projection screen
- Mosaic system
- Microphone recording setup / Pro Tools
- A secure network with editing and mixing rooms
- A dedicated assistant present in the auditorium
